A Clear Way to Understand Music

I teach piano, music theory, harmony, ear training and RCM theory. I like lessons to feel calm, clear and useful. A student should leave the lesson understanding what we worked on and what to practice next. My background is in academic music theory, harmony, counterpoint, solfege and musical analysis. I spent many years teaching these subjects at university level, and now I use that experience in private lessons with children, teens and adults. For me, music lessons are not only about playing the right notes. I want students to understand how music works, listen more carefully and build confidence step by step.

2016 to 2021

Music Theory Competition Work

I worked with the T. S. Kravtsov All-Ukrainian Music Theory Competition as a scientific supervisor, organizer and jury member.

2015 to 2016

Teaching Materials

I prepared practical teaching materials in solfege, harmony and polyphony, including exercises for ear training, harmonic analysis and counterpoint.

Teaching Approach

I keep lessons clear, steady and practical. My goal is not to overload students with information, but to help them understand what they are learning and how to use it in real music.

Theory Made Practical

I use my background in harmony, solfege, counterpoint and musical analysis to explain music in a way students can actually understand. Theory is not separate from playing. It helps students read better, listen better and practice with more purpose.

Lessons Built Around the Student

Every student needs a different pace. Some need a calm first step, some need stronger practice habits, and some need focused support for theory or exams. I adjust the lesson structure to the student’s age, level and goals.

I teach piano, music theory, harmony, ear training and RCM theory. Some students come for regular piano lessons, and others need more focused help with theory, harmony or exam preparation.
My lessons are a good fit for children, teens and adults who need clear structure, patient explanation and steady progress. I work with beginners, continuing students and students preparing for theory exams.

Yes. I teach adult beginners and returning students. Lessons can move at a calm pace, without pressure or embarrassment.
Yes. I can help with RCM theory, harmony and exam preparation. We can focus on the student’s current level, weak areas and exam goals.
Yes. Theory, harmony and exam preparation often work very well online. We can use screen sharing, written examples and clear step-by-step explanation.
For younger beginners, in-person lessons are often better. For older students, adults or theory-focused work, online lessons can also work well. We can choose the format based on the student.
Yes. I can teach in English or Russian. For bilingual students, I can also use both languages when it helps them understand better.
If the student already has books, pieces, exam materials or notes, please bring them or send them before the lesson. If the student is new, just tell me the age, instrument, level and goal.
Regular practice matters more than long practice. I usually give clear, realistic tasks so the student knows what to work on between lessons.
